Navigation Systems Cut Stress and Save Time
Navigation is a feature that many of today’s cars are equipped with, and it’s one that drivers no longer want to do without. It’s much more than just a substitute for a road map. Navigation means less strain on the driver, assistance in complicated driving situations and also time savings. A direction advisory, spoken at the right moment, helps eliminate the stress, hectic minutes and distraction caused by looking at the map or searching for road signs in unfamiliar cities. The drivers can devote their full attention to driving. They’re safer, and they arrive relaxed at their destinations.
In the future, navigation systems will provide an even greater degree of comfort because they’ll be able to record additional information from the vehicle’s surroundings. The up-to-the-minute traffic conditions – including in urban areas - will be considered when a route is chosen, as will road construction work or available parking spaces. Municipal authorities will be able to provide information on not only disruptions but also on appropriate detours and changes in the road system without the driver’s having to go in search of it. These are prerequisites for reliable short-term forecasts of traffic situations.
The navigation system will also act as a powerful central processing unit that controls other information systems, which will spare the driver avoidable burdens in any type of driving situation.
