Facts and figures
Bosch is one of the world’s major centers for research and development. It’s the cradle of new high-tech products, from efficient automotive components and better power tools to sophisticated navigation and monitoring systems. From the initial concept to large-scale production, our researchers have a hand in the process. So it’s not surprising that Bosch is increasing its investment in Research and Development. And that’s equally true in staffing and in the financial budget.
We spent some 3.9 billion euros on research and development in 2008, equivalent to 8.6 percent of total group sales. We have around 32,600 associates working in research and development, more than 1,400 of them in our corporate sector Research and Advance Engineering.
